🌲 Grade 10 Students Give Back to the Community
G.A.D. School Grade 10 students volunteering at Hunt Road Park in partnership with Khalsa Credit Union and the City of Surrey.
On October 16, 2025, our Grade 10 students proudly joined hands with Khalsa Credit Union (KCU) and the City of Surrey for a meaningful community initiative at Hunt Road Park. The event focused on the removal of invasive plant species and the planting of native vegetation—an important effort to restore and beautify the local ecosystem.
This long-standing community project, led by Khalsa Credit Union, has made a lasting difference across Surrey over the years. G.A.D. School was honoured to be part of this initiative and to contribute to such impactful environmental work.
Despite the physically demanding nature of the project, our students showed outstanding teamwork, effort, and enthusiasm throughout the day. In just a few hours, they successfully removed large sections of invasive growth and planted over 200 native plants—a remarkable achievement that reflects their commitment to service and sustainability.
Students were also delighted to meet Mayor Brenda Locke, who stopped by to recognize their efforts and express gratitude for their contributions to the community.
We are incredibly proud of our Grade 10 cohort for their dedication, leadership, and spirit of seva—helping make Surrey a more beautiful, safe, and environmentally thriving place for all.
