Creating a More Accessible G.A.D. School for All
At G.A.D. School, we are committed to building a school community where all students, staff, and families feel supported and included. We continue to develop our Accessibility Plan, which identifies barriers, sets priorities, and guides action — with input from our Accessibility Committee and your feedback.
Your insights are vital in helping us improve equity of access to our programs, services, and facilities. If you’ve encountered a barrier that limits participation for individuals with physical, sensory, mental, intellectual, or cognitive impairments, we want to hear from you.
🔍 What Is a Barrier?
A barrier is anything that prevents someone with a disability from fully participating in school life. This can include:
Architectural barriers (e.g., lack of ramps or elevators)
Attitudinal barriers (e.g., biases or exclusionary behavior)
Information barriers (e.g., unclear instructions, hard-to-read signage)
Communication barriers (e.g., absence of alternate formats or assistive supports)
Policy or practice barriers (e.g., rigid rules that don’t consider all needs)
Technology barriers (e.g., websites or tools not accessible by screen readers)
