At G.A.D. School, we are committed to building a school community where all students, staff, and families feel supported and included. We continue to develop our Accessibility Plan, which identifies barriers, sets priorities, and guides action — with input from our Accessibility Committee and your feedback.

Your insights are vital in helping us improve equity of access to our programs, services, and facilities. If you’ve encountered a barrier that limits participation for individuals with physical, sensory, mental, intellectual, or cognitive impairments, we want to hear from you.

A barrier is anything that prevents someone with a disability from fully participating in school life. This can include:

  • Attitudinal barriers (e.g., biases or exclusionary behavior)

  • Information barriers (e.g., unclear instructions, hard-to-read signage)

  • Communication barriers (e.g., absence of alternate formats or assistive supports)

  • Policy or practice barriers (e.g., rigid rules that don’t consider all needs)

  • Technology barriers (e.g., websites or tools not accessible by screen readers)
