Pink Shirt Day, observed on the last Wednesday of February(February 26, 2025), is a movement against bullying that started in Nova Scotia in 2007. Two students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, encouraged classmates to wear pink in support of a peer who was bullied, sparking a global movement.
In British Columbia and across Canada, schools, workplaces, and communities participate by wearing pink, promoting kindness, and supporting anti-bullying initiatives. The movement has expanded worldwide, with countries like Australia, Japan, and New Zealand adopting similar campaigns.
Pink Shirt Day continues to inspire people to stand against bullying and foster a culture of respect and inclusion.
On Wednesday our school showed their pink shirts to show we stand against bullying and are fighting for a world with inclusion and kindness for all. Great efforts to our grade 6 team for hosting the assembly!
