Mental Health Assembly

Every year we hold a mental health assembly to teach the students about the importance of being healthy both body and mind. Today's assembly was hosted by grades 7, 2 and Mr. Chin's Drama club. A power point/video was shared, a question panel answering important questions about mental health and how to get help if you are struggling. Grade 7 did a beautiful tableau featuring "Breathe me" by Sia where they focused on what mental health issues can look like. Grade 2 sung "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers showing that no matter what, your friends ar someone you can count on if you need help. Lastly, Mr.Chin's drama club perfromed a rendition of " This is Me " sung by Sophia Dhaliwal and Reyen Maken; it was very beautiful. We also had our Spelling Bee winners come to collect their trophies, medals and accolades from their peers and teachers. Great job everyone! Remember, if you are a youth and you are struggling or your child is struggling with their mental health, we have systems in place to help. You can contact your child's teacher, the administration or call Kids Help Phone, text #686868 or call 1 800 668 6868.
