On April 24th we held our first ever Entrepreneurial Fair. Our grade 7 teacher team collaborated through Arts Education, Language Arts, Math and Careers to create an excellent opportunity for students to create, think critically, and collaborate & communicate. Grade 7 students used their creative thinking and arts skills to create items such as bracelets & jewelry, crocheted items, baked goods, art works, candles, bath gift sets, and recycled material games. Grades 3 to 9, as well as parents, were invited to come purchase items and enjoy games throughout the fair. The grade 7 students were dedicated to their cause and did an excellent job creating their items and games, their business plans and using math skills to calculate profits and give change. We are super proud of their efforts! Thank you to all of the teachers, students and parents for coming out to support our cause and the students' learning.
A special thanks to our grade 7 teacher team, Mrs.Kuljit Kaur (ELA), who proposed and organized the project, Mr.Sarabjit Singh who helped with set up and take down of the fair as well as teaching the math skills necessary for the students to be successful. Also another large thanks to our two Vice Principals, Ms.Arondus (grade 7 Arts Education teacher) and Mrs.Virk (grade 7 Careers teacher), who helped with item creation and creating business plans so that students could apply their knowledge to running their businesses and this event could be a success. We are very proud of our teacher team for creating this learning opportunity for our students; their hard work and dedication to our students' learning is amazing and greatly appreciated.
We could not do learning initiatives like this without parents' support. Thank you for being an integral part of the GAD community! Together we surpassed our fundraising goal.
